About Vienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lodi

Vienna’s History

In 1967, Ken Heffel, a young and recent college graduate, was hired as a bookkeeper at Vienna Convalescent Hospital in Lodi, California. At that time Vienna had 134 beds and specialized solely in long term care. Almost immediately, Ken was promoted to Administrator of Vienna, and after only several more years, he and his wife Diane became Vienna’s sole owners and operators. In 1987 Ken brought on Corey Wright as his Administrator, and has since unofficially retired from running the facility. His commitment to maintaining a top notch establishment is evident in his generosity to employees and the meticulous attention to detail in every inch of Vienna’s ever expanding facility.

Today Vienna’s Administrator, Corey, is onsite daily, and Ken can often be found refilling candy bowls, chatting with family and staff, and joking with residents. Vienna’s dedicated team of long-time employees and leaders have shaped Vienna’s reputation, history and community.

Facility

Vienna is conveniently located across from Lodi Memorial Hospital. We are a 150 bed, single level facility serving both short-term rehabilitation and long-term needs. Elegant décor and furnishings, beautifully landscaped grounds, and shaded patios provide a comfortable, safe environment for residents and guests. Over the years, the Heffels have designed nearly every detail to bring a homey sense of comfort to the families and neighbors we serve. From the framed, scenic photos along the hall ways, to the collection of beautiful grandfather clocks, to the warm tones throughout the building we are always continuing our efforts to provide a comfortable, dignified home.

Rehabilitation Center

Nearly ten years ago the Heffels saw a need in our community for a better rehabilitation center. In 2011, Vienna opened a brand new, 3,000 sq. ft. rehabilitation center unlike anything else in Lodi. Vienna’s rehab center is the largest and most advanced in Lodi, and offers comprehensive therapy programs tailored to each individual. We uniquely offer private therapy rooms, an outdoor texture pathway, four specialized rooms for occupational therapy, and some of the most state of the art equipment around. Vienna’s rehab proudly offers physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy for both inpatient and outpatient care.

Skilled Nursing Care

Vienna’s team provides 5-star, 24 hour skilled nursing care for all residents. Our team of RNs, LVNs, and CNAs work around the clock to provide care for residents in both short-term rehab and long-term care. They provide varying levels of support for residents in their activities of daily life (ADLs). Vienna’s Activity department runs several specialty programs that can’t be found at other Lodi facilities, including Music & Memory and Serving Smiles, along with multiple daily group and individual activities. Vienna’s kitchen serves three hearty meals a day along with morning and evening snacks. Vienna has an onsite salon to keep residents looking good with haircuts, sets, perms and dye jobs, plus pedicures and manicures.
